What is AVADO?
AVADO is plug-and-play hardware for running blockchain nodes at home. Each box comes with the AVADO operating system and a web interface, the Admin UI, where you install nodes and validators from the DappStore without using the command line. You own the hardware and your validator keys stay on it, so no exchange or staking provider holds your stake.

The hardware is one purchase, with no subscription needed to run your node. The box sits at home and connects to your router with a network cable.

Your keys stay with you
Validator keys are stored on your AVADO, not with an exchange or a staking provider. Your stake can’t be frozen by someone else’s platform.

Maintenance is packaged
Client releases and network upgrades are packaged by the AVADO team. With auto-update on (the default), your box installs them by itself.

AVADO is for people who want to run the node themselves. If you’d rather not run hardware at all, a pooled staking service is simpler.

Supported networks
Ethereum is the main focus. The DappStore also has packages for other networks; availability changes as networks evolve, so the DappStore on your box has the current list. Networks you can run on AVADO include:

Priority Care

About Priority CareMonitoring
Monitoring is done with Grafana: install it from the DappStore to see CPU, memory, disk and network use, with dashboards for Teku, Nimbus and Prysm. It runs on your AVADO and sends nothing out.

What is AVADO?
AVADO is plug-and-play hardware for running blockchain nodes at home. Each box comes with the AVADO operating system and a web interface, the Admin UI, where you install nodes and validators from the DappStore without using the command line. You own the hardware and your validator keys stay on it, so no exchange or staking provider holds your stake.
Do I need technical knowledge?
No command-line knowledge is needed. You connect the box to your router and power, join its Wi-Fi network once to open the AVADO Admin in a browser, and install what you want to run from the DappStore. A Staking setup page in the Admin guides you through the steps. The documentation walks you through setup, and the Discord community helps when you get stuck.
How much ETH do I need to stake?
The minimum for a solo validator is 32 ETH. Since the Pectra upgrade in May 2025, one validator can hold up to 2,048 ETH, so with more ETH you don’t have to run many separate validators (see how Pectra changed staking). Rocket Pool lets node operators stake with a smaller bond, but the AVADO Rocket Pool package hasn’t been updated for Rocket Pool’s new megapools yet, so contact support@ava.do before starting a new Rocket Pool setup.
Who holds my keys?
Validator keys are stored on your AVADO, so you hold them, not an exchange or staking provider. Keep an offline backup of your mnemonic: nobody, including AVADO, can recover it for you.
Is there a monthly fee?
AVADO is a one-off purchase with no monthly fee: you buy the hardware once. Priority Care is optional and costs €12 a month or €120 a year.
How do updates work?
Updates are installed automatically. Every app has an Auto-update switch in the Admin UI, on by default, and AVADO’s own system software updates the same way. The AVADO team packages client releases for network upgrades, and the Admin UI tells you when an update is waiting or when auto-update is off for one of your apps.
